At the present time there has been high interest in Nabiru, the home planet of the Anunnaki, because it is believed to be approaching Earth at this time, with high expectations that the effect of its gravitational pull will wreak havoc upon the continents of Earth.

One factor in that interest is the suspicion by astronomers that there is, in the outer reaches of our solar system, what they have dubbed "Planet X"! Planets cannot be seen by the best telescopes beyond our solar system; but their presence is discerned by variations in the movements of suns or other bodies that suggest the presence of planets by the gravitational pull of the planets upon those bodies! And that is the basis for the suspicion that there is a Planet X!

Another factor in people's present interest in Nabiru is the ending of the Mayan calendar, which, having accurately predicted a number of significant events on Earth, abruptly ends, in the year 2012, which by now is not very long away, implying a catastrophic end of Earth as we presently know it.

That suspicion coupled with Zecharia Sitchin's writings describing Nabiru's 3600-year orbital path and the dramatic effect that its nearness has had during past cycles - the Great Flood's was one of those - has tempted people to suppose that Nabiru is, indeed, returning, to cause the catastrophic events described in the Book of Revelation found at the end of Yehovaw's Holy Bible!

Whipping the interest in this soon anticipated phenomenon to a frenzy is the claim by some that a dwarf sun presumably interacting with Nabiru has been actually seen and photographed in the Earth's Southern skies!

The claim is also being made (much of this on U-Tube.com) that certain governments of the world are aware of these things and are making elaborate underground preparations for the survival of a select few of their populations! For the rest of Earth's people, seeking high ground has been recommended, to stay above anticipated tsunamis created by the earthquakes that movements of the continental plates would cause, as would a strike by a sizeable meteorite in any of our oceans do the same!

One problem with all this frenetic building of scenarios is that the Great Flood, which, according to Sitchin's study of Sumerian records, marks a notable visit by Nabiru, is believed by some - based upon the Sumerian king list, which reflects the disruptive effect of the flood, and upon sedentary deposits in Mesopotamia - to have occurred approximately 2900 years BCE, which makes a total of approximately 4900 years to the present day!

According to Mr. Sitchin's later works, examination of the Sumerian records concerning Nabiru's crossings near our sun, has shown that its cycle has steadily deteriorated, due to the gravitational pull of the sun each time it has come near it, only to be slung back out into space for another orbit, its trajectory having been slightly bent as any body with gravity bends even the light that travels near it.

So, with 3200 years now being claimed for Nabiru's orbit from and back to traveling near the sun, one can expect, by simply subtracting 3200 from 4900, that Nabiru should have been expected around 300 A.D. with another visit not to be expected until the year 3500!

So, why did not all hell break loose in 300 A.D.?

To understand that, one must realize that Nabiru's effect upon Earth, which was considerable at the time of the Great Flood, depends upon where Earth happens to be in its own orbit around the sun when Nabiru passes through our solar system; because it passes through on the far side of where the sun is in relation to its huge orbit, if its orbit is "around" the sun, which it has to be, to be a captive member of our solar system!

So, from variations in the lengths of their respective orbits, there is no guarantee that Earth will be at that "far side" of the sun when Nabiru makes its crossing; so Nabiru's return is not necessarily a cataclysmic event on Earth, if Earth happens to be on the side of the sun nearest the center of Nabiru's orbit when it arrives!

That highly variable factor together with the time remaining before Nabiru should be next expected (3500 A.D.) completely removes it as a factor in the dire calamities being anticipated presently, with the Mayan calendar's ending along with the Earth-shaking events prophesied in Yehovaw's Holy Bible!

Whatever may have happened around 300 A.D. was certainly not Earth-shaking; and whatever interpretation is being given to the appearance of another sun in Earth's Southern skies (dwarf suns cannot be seen with the naked eye outside our solar system any more than planets), Sumerian records of Anunnaki astronomical knowledge mention no such body associated with Nabiru; and they certain should have known; so why that idea is being given any credence is anyone's guess!
