The Anunnaki called their home planet "Nabiru", although at present I cannot find where Mr. Sitchin provides that information! His book "The Twelvth Planet" (Avon Books) does not list that name in its index! He wrote:

... our scholars tell us that the planetary system of which Earth is a part comprises the Sun, Earth and Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. This adds up to the Sun and only ten planets (when the Moon is counted as one).

But that is not what the Sumerians said. They claimed that our system was made up of the Sun and eleven planets (counting the Moon), and hold steadfastly to the opinion that, in addition to the planets known to us today, there has been a twelfth member of the solar system - the home planet of the Nefilim.

We shall call it the Twelfth Planet.

In his book "The Twelfth Planet" (Avon Books) Mr. Sitchin exhaustively documents both the development of our present day knowledge of the solar system and the claims of ancient texts concerning Nabiru! And my purpose here is not to duplicate his scholarly efforts to that end!

Of great interest to me was an account Mr. Sitchin provided of the conditions on Nabiru that led to the Anunnaki's first landing on Earth and its subsequent colonization by them, which account was written by the scribe of Enki, a senior member of the Anunnaki on Earth, in his autobiography, which Mr. Sitchen presents as "The Lost Book of Enki"! (Bear and Company)

Unless things have changed on Nabiru since the view of them that Sumerian records give us of them, Anu is its king! But his kingship was challenged, by Alalu, an Anunnaki who felt he had a right to the throne! But he failed in his attempt and ran for his life, commandeering an interplanetary space ship, in which he made his way into our solar system!

I must assume that Alalu knew of the presence and general condition of Earth, that it would be supportive of Anunnaki life! For he made his way directly to Earth, as a possible place of refuge!

But, having achieved that end, Alalu discovered gold on Earth in the sands of Earth's sea! And that discovery was exciting, not for its monetary value, as we value gold, but for the beneficial effect that gold particles had when they were seeded into the upper part of Nabiru's atmosphere to keep it from dissipating, a problem that had been of great concern to the Anunnaki for some time!

Knowing the problem that his people were having with Nabiru's atmosphere, Alalu felt that his discovery of the gold would give him favor in Anu's eyes; so he communicated his finding with the people on Nabiru; and an expedition was promptly organized, under the leadership of Enki, one of Anu's sons, approximately 450,000 years ago!

A phenomenon unique to the Anunnaki who came to Earth is the extraordinary length of their lives in relation to Earth's time, the difference being that a year in Nabiru's time was 3600 years longer than a year in Earth's time. This led to the extraordinary longevities of kings and their reigns as reported in the Sumerian king lists, which archeologists unacquainted with the particulars of Zecharia Sitchin's work have regarded as "myths", since the reported years of such kings, especially prior to the Great Flood, appear to be absurd in relation to Earth's life expectancies.

Some hint of this extraordinary longevity is found in Yehovaw's Holy Bible, in His recorder's account in the Book of Genesis of the unusual lengths of life enjoyed from Adam's time down to the Great Flood! But as also reported in Yehovaw's Holy Bible, such longevities steadily deteriorated to the "three score and ten" or seventy years that has remained the norm since then.

But we must take into account that Yehovaw's Holy Bible focuses upon the human race, not that of the Anunnaki, whereas the Sumerian king lists begin with amazingly long reigns that had to be enjoyed by Anunnaki assigned to rule, until sons and daughters of their cohabiting with earthlings began to degrade their longevity, along with the effect of their living on Earth, where the length of a year is so much shorter!
